Around the Grounds September 2024

Welcome, Elevators, to the September Notes from HQ round-up!

As the seasons begin to shift and a new term starts for our Australian and South African teams, the race is on to the end of the year. Whether you're running your first workshops or coaching programmes this month or your 100th, October brings with it the chance really make a difference in students' grades, confidence and attitude to study.

But before we get stuck into the final quarter of the calendar year, let's take a quick look back at September. In this recap, we’ll be celebrating our standout performers across our presenting team, as well as taking a look at what our teams have been posting on their Slack channels.

Let’s dive in!

Team Australia

Term 4 has officially kicked off this week in this Aus, and before the break, the team were putting in the hours across September in the build-up to exams.

Aus Presenter of the Month

Kristie

It's Kristie who is our very deserving Aus Presenter of the Month for September! Her dedication is reflected in her outstanding performance stats and the impact she’s made.

Kristie achieved an impressive 98.05% across 15 sems last month, and her efforts haven’t gone unnoticed by teachers either—Kristie earned a glowing 9.4 teacher feedback score, a testament to her mastery in the classroom.

We asked Kristie what the number 1 lesson she's learned from presenting is:

"Number 1 lesson on presenting for me is no matter how small of a drop in the ocean you think you made, you don’t know what the ripples are after you leave!"

Keep up the fantastic work, Kristie!

Standout Presenter Feedback

Victoria

"Victoria did a really awesome job, all the students got something out of it and she connected with all of them across various abilities and motivations."

Nandana

"Nandana was amazing. So eloquent and well spoken and relatable. The students valued the presentation immensely."

Aus Coach of the Month

Gigi

Well done, Gigi, you're our Aus Coach of the Month! Gigi’s dedication to her students has secured her a 10/10 on 100% of her parent feedback last term and as a result earned the prestigious title of Coach of the Term too, for NSW in Term 3! Her ability to connect with students and inspire confidence has made a real difference in their study journeys.

Here's what Gigi enjoys most about coaching:

“Being an Elevate coach has been a deeply rewarding experience. Helping students achieve their goals and seeing the pride in their families’ eyes is incredibly special. Every step of progress feels like a shared victory, and I’m so grateful to be part of their journey toward success and fulfillment.”

Awesome job, Gigi!

Standout Coach Feedback

Gigi

"It was really good, really really helpful and I feel 10 times better than at the start of the term. Gigi was so attentive and genuinely cared and put in a lot of effort. I've implemented a lot of the memorising techniques, having a specific plan and routine and how to manage stress."

Divan

"Divan was fantastic! So happy we did the programme now ahead of a big set of exams."

Emma

"Emma was very good. She explained everything and was very patient, even in the things that I wasn't sure about."

Special Mention...

This month, we also wanted to give a special shoutout to El, who made an appearance on Radio Sydney last month!

El took to the airwaves and did a stellar job of representing Elevate, delivering an insightful and motivating segment on study skills just in time for students preparing for their HSC exams. El shared invaluable tips to help students study effectively, manage their time effectively, and maximise their performance during this crucial period. You can check out some awesome photos of El below, along with the recording of her segment!

Here’s to helping every student achieve their best, one study tip at a time. Awesome work, El!

Team UK

As the new academic year gets into full swing, the Elevate UK team has welcomed a load of new presenters on board as they get to work helping students set themselves up for success. They've been empowering students to take control of their learning across the country, helping them to build confidence as they embark on the year ahead. Let's take a look at who's been leading the charge!

UK Presenter of the Month

Saisha

It's Saisha who is Elevate UK’s Presenter of the Month! Saisha has set the bar high, delivering outstanding results across 20 workshops, with an impressive 99% student engagement score and an equally remarkable teacher feedback score of 9.46.

You can read the number 1 lesson Saisha has learned from presenting below:

"Presenting has taught me so much, but most importantly, it has taught me that you can have energy at 8am with no coffee when it comes to it! Having that energy will make all the difference in seminars, and it’ll be the difference between a student engaging and taking something away from the session, as opposed to staring out a window and not learning."

Congratulations, Saisha—you’ve truly earned this recognition! Keep up the amazing work!

Standout Presenter Feedback

Beatrice

"Beatrice was amazing when she came in. The delivery of the content was excellent and relevant to the students. Elevate always delivers excellent sessions to our students so thank you!!"

Monty

"Monty was both personable, and inspiring. It was a super experience for us all. Thank you!"

Evie

"Evie was amazing - such a fantastic presenter and had all students fully engaged - not easy with Year 12/13 students!!!!"

UK Coach of the Month

Mahzabin

Our Coach of the Month for September is Mahzabin! Mahzabin has shown unwavering dedication to helping her students not only improve their study skills but also truly enjoy the learning process. Her encouragement has helped her students believe in their abilities and approach their studies with renewed motivation. You can check out some feedback for Mahzabin below:

"Her approach is brilliant, she is SO on it Caitlin's already so motivated and is now a machine studying"

"I'm really enjoying working with Mahzabin!"

Mahzabin shared with us the skills that coaching has helped her to develop most:

"I think coaching has really improved my skills to improvise and adapt the content to my students needs! I’m able to recognise what to spend more time covering and what I don’t need to focus on as much so it’s really helped me to think on my feet."

Standout Coach Feedback

Khaled

"Helped me understand what I can do better in and around an exam. I thought that the tips given could be very useful and I will definitely implement them in the future. He's making me so much more confident."

Morgan

"The sessions were great, as is Morgan. My son benefited hugely from the sessions. Thank you Morgan for your wonderful help."

"I have never enjoyed taking notes and this session has changed that."

Rosalie

"I could not recommend her more overall. As I have mentioned, she always tailored what I was learning to the course I was studying, which I found most helpful. Thanks to her, I feel much more confident as a Y13 IB student and am ready to tackle whatever challenge is ahead."

It's been an exciting first month, with new presenters joining the team and running their first sems - a huge welcome to all newbie Elevators! So which presenter has smashed the first month back? Let's take a look at our US Presenter of the Month for September.

US Presenter of the Month

Munsura

A huge congratulations to our US Presenter of the Month, Munsura, for kicking off the academic year with some awesome achievements! Munsura has truly set the standard high for the year by delivering 12 sems with outstanding results last month. Her impact is reflected in her flawless 100% stats and 10.00 teacher feedback score.

We spoke to Munsura about what she loves most about presenting:

"What’s so amazing about presenting is that you get to see an perspective that not a lot of people have the opportunity to experience, your style and how you approach can bring someone in, it's a different challenge each time and you need to have strong skill to able to perfect that every session. And that what I love about each session."

We love that, Munsura! Thank you for commitment to #HelpingTheKids!

Standout Presenter Feedback

David

"David was amazing, kids loved him, was really able to communicate well in Spanish and students were great. Would love to have him back."

Martina

"The Principal absolutely loved Martina, in fact requested her back. Thought she was a rockstar. Rated her a 5/5."
