Elevate to open 2 more international offices in 2020. Smart, ambitious founders wanted!

Updated: Jun 6, 2019

Now that Tyler is locked and loaded and ready for San Fran, and Alistair is polishing his cowboy boots for Houston, we are ready to start looking for our next 2 international territories and start the search for our next founders.

Tyler is off to San Fran? Could you be founding the next territory?

Where are the next territories?

Great question! We are going to be announcing them on Tuesday 2nd July from our annual General Managers Conference in New York. But I can tell you this: the locations are exotic, cool places to live. That’s all I can say at this stage. On top that, this year’s location announcement will be bigger and better than last year. PLUS there is a bigger prize to celebrate this milestone. You can follow all of this by signing up to the #whatsnext mailing list at https://mailchi.mp/1d1423c57f9c/whatsnext.

What does founding a territory entail?

In a nutshell it means getting paid to live somewhere exotic and exciting, whilst you run a start-up that will positively change your life and the lives of hundreds of thousands of students. You learn amazing skills such as sales, marketing and management whilst building and running a company at the same age that most other people are making their bosses coffees or doing photocopying. Oh, and you also have equity in the office you are building, so in effect you are also building a financial asset for yourself.

Sound interesting? Hear what Adam, the Founder of Team South Africa, and Rob and Mike, the Founders of Team NY, have to say about their journeys as founders.

I can do that! How do I become a founder?

Apply! In 2018 we had 42 applicants from 5 countries throw their hats in the ring for the opportunity to found the San Fran and Houston territories. These applicants came from the presenting body, the full-time office teams, and even alumni. Over the course of 12 weeks applicants were put through an application process that made the Navy Seals' selection process look like a picnic, involving:

· 2 essays;

· 3 biometric tests;

· 2 interviews;

· 1 business case study;

· And the mystery box challenge. This video will give you a taster.

Left standing at the end of this process was Tyler, selected to go to San Fran, and Alistair, selected to go to Houston. Alistair was a presenter when we appointed him, and Tyler had only just stepped into a full-time role.

In addition, we have 5 current staff members on a short-list to join Tyler and Al next year as co-founders, 2 staff members were offered full-time positions in an Elevate office and I think most other applicants would say that they learnt a lot about themselves, and gained some great skills for future job interviews.

AND THERE ARE PRIZES!

If possibly getting a job overseas, a job in your own country, or priceless interviewing skills aren't enough of an incentive, then (a) you are hard to please and (b) lucky that we have even more on offer! There’s a prize as well! In 2018, Stela for Team NY won the lucky draw prize to travel for the weekend to San Fran and put together a tour guide for our incoming GM.

In 2019 the prize is even bigger AND better! One lucky person who signs up to the #whatsnext mailing list will win flights and accommodation to join the Elevate Global Awards in August at a mystery location in Europe! That’s right – FREE trip to Europe! More on this next newsletter!

Enough already – you had me at international. What’s next?
