May 2024 Around the Grounds

Doug Barton

Updated: Aug 6, 2024

Welcome one and all to our May Around the Grounds update!

As always, in this update, we'll be revisiting highlights from last month and giving our top performers in May the recognition they deserve.

We hope this content gives you valuable insight into what's going on across our global teams - and your own! - but this month we also wanted to ask you whether there's anything else you'd like to see included in these updates. If there is, we'd love it if you could take 2 minutes to let us know here.

If there's nothing else you can think of right now, but you'd just like to let us know you enjoy the updates, we'd also love to hear from you!

But now, onto the main event. Let's kick off this month's Around the Grounds with an update from Team Aus!

Team Australia

With almost 2000 workshops being delivered in Aus last month, it's a surprise that the team had time to do anything else. But alongside their sems and coaching programs, our Elevate friends down under have been getting up to all sorts of wholesome activities across May, as you'll see in the Slack channel highlights.

But before we get there, let's take a look at the awesome presenting, coaching, and feedback from the past four weeks...

Aus Presenter of the Month

Damien

Damien from team NSW has done an incredible job this month, making him our Aus Presenter of the Month. He's been getting over 97% stats and an average teacher score of 10 across all of his seminars. Great job, Damien!

Standout Presenter Feedback

Trinity

"Trinity was really engaging, friendly & accommodating. Dealing with Elevate Education as an organisation has been so wonderful - professional, prompt & effective communication and very accommodating to our needs. Thank you!"

Bahkti

"Great presentation - Bahkti was enthusiastic, informative, engaging, and responsive to our students and their circumstances. They all found the content relevant."

Aaliyah "The presenter was knowledgeable, engaging and well-prepared."

Aus Coach of the Month

Sasha

Sasha from Team Vic is our Australian Coach of the Month for May! Across the past month, she's been busy honing her coaching skills to deliver awesome, high-impact sessions that really resonate with her students.

Sasha told us a bit about what she enjoyed most in coaching, and why she finds it so rewarding:

“Being an Elevate coach has allowed me to have a direct impact on students' learning and growth. I love experiencing their journey from the first session to the last, watching them improve not only their study skills but also their confidence, enthusiasm for learning, and attitudes toward education. Building strong connections with my students is another integral part of being a coach that I deeply value. Serving as an additional support system for them is incredibly rewarding. Having struggled with confidence during my own school years, I strive to be a reliable source of encouragement, helping students build their academic confidence and be honest about their abilities. Knowing that I am capable of making a positive difference in a student's journey through school, is immensely fulfilling."

Standout Coach Feedback

Bala

"Bala has been great, Leah you've been great. We've really put a plan in place to prepare for exams and having that visible on a calendar and whiteboard. Definitely a 20/10."

Bahkti

"Lizzy is so amazing and helpful. She really helped me to be more organised."

Tash

'She was amazing. She is invaluable to Elevate. She is organised. Everything makes sense. My daughter absolutely loved it. You could see the improvement. Kiera hasn't been great on note taking before so this was great for her. She implemented notes straight away. This has been invaluable.'

Team South Africa

Team SA crushed over 400 sems this month across the country - and they've got some great stats and feedback to show for it!

Let's see who was leading the charge last month.

SA Presenter of the Month

Dwayne

Huge congrats to Dwayne, who is our SA presenter of the month for May!

Dwayne finsihed up the month with 98.86% stats and a teacher feedback score of 10 across 11 sems - amazing work.

We asked Dwayne to reflect on the past month, and here was his response:

"May was the first month that I could finally start recognizing names and faces of Elevate colleagues. Before that, I was simply too overwhelmed. It was a wild month and a great month. Packed with new schools and amazing sessions. And I finally moved to Muizenberg, tried to surf, but I don't think it's for me. The waves kept playing hard to get and I just wanted it too much."

Sounds like a big month, Dwayne - keep up the great stats!

Standout Presenter Feedback

Tiffany

"The children loved Tiffany whose presentation skills were so engaging."

SA Coach of the Month

Our SA Coach of the Month is Tumelo! Recognised a few months back as Presenter of the Month for her work in the SA team, Tumelo has now made an equally significant impact in the coaching space. With an average feedback rating of 9.6, her clients have nothing but fantastic things to say about her. Beyond the usual coaching, Tumelo has been helping a large group of ABSA fellows as a part of the CSI programme, running an impressive 38 sessions in May! Outstanding effort there, Tumelo!

We asked Tumelo what she's most enjoyed about coaching over the past couple of months, here's what she had to say:

“Coaching this term has been fun working with different age groups. It has led me to appreciate the broad work that we do across the company and the meaningful impact we make in the students lives.”

Team UK

May brought with it exam season for the UK, and with A-levels and GCSEs still in full-swing, it's crunch time for UK students at the moment.

But even with schools in full exam-mode, the team have still delivered over 300 sessions. Not bad going - let's hope those exam room skills are paying off!

UK Presenter of the Month

Steph

Well done to Steph, Our UK Presenter of the month! Steph has been recognised this month for consistently great sems and her effort as a team player! Thanks for your commitment to the Elevate values, Steph!

Here's Steph's number one bit of advice for delivering great workshops:

"I'd say the main thing I try to bear in mind is that, even if it's an early morning or it's been a long week, to remember that you are going into every session you run with the ability to make a real difference to a child's confidence in themselves, and so you owe it to them to give it your all. Particularly when I've been stressed about other things, like uni work, reminding myself of this helps get me back into the right mindset."

Standout Presenter Feedback

Talisker

"All of the sessions that have been run by Tal have been absolutely amazing, I can't fault him anything. He is superb, the students warm to him so well - they listen to him and respect what he has to say, he has excellent behaviour management and communicates so clearly. He's just so relatable."

Abbie

"Abbie was a fantastic presenter."

UK Coach of the Month

Abigail

Abigail has had a fantastic month of coaching in May, getting amazing feedback and great results with her students. This makes her our very deserving UK Coach of the Month!

Read on to see some of Abigail's awesome feedback and her favourite part about coaching.

"Abigail made this programme so enjoyable for my daughter. She's actually sitting down and teaching her friends everything that Abigail taught her! Thank you so much I'm so happy with how it all went." - Parent

"Abigail was very helpful in finding solutions to improve my time management." - Student

"The part of coaching I most enjoy is asking the students whether they've started using the skills I taught them in their previous session. I love knowing that what I've taught has made a real difference to the students; hopefully, they will use these skills forever."

Team Photos

From the UK Team this month we have: a pic of the West Mids team from Monty, a team photo from Steph, a sighting of Elevate Australia's office from Asher whilst watching Married at First Sight; and a photo from Evie on an early Elevate trip to Hull.

Team US

Things are also heating up for students in the US, and the team are dishing out study skills advice left, right and cetre to help get them prepared for upcoming assessments. The team have delivered 866 sems across May, giving you an idea of just how hard the US team are charging at the moment.

Huge well done to the whole of the team here, but a special shout out to our US Presenter of the Month for May...

US Presenter of the Month

Sam

And it's Sam who nabs the title! He's been recognised for being reliable, consistent, and for getting great stats on a high volume of seminars. Keep it up, Sam!

Team Photos

Alongside another TikTok team snap, and a great pic from Maria, we also have some recent graduates to congratulate! Thanks to Nayab and Winy for sharing their photos, and a huge well done to all other presenters who graduated last month!
